Statement from the Friends
On Tuesday, June 30 at 5:00 p.m. the University of Wyoming Geological Museum closed its doors. It was a sad moment for all of us who care about the museum. The museum was closed as a result of budget cuts announced by UW President Tom Buchanan on June 4, 2009 that included the museum’s small operating budget and the salary of the long-time director Brent Breithaupt and his part-time office assistant Jennifer Durer.
Is there an address where we could send donations to yet?
ReplyDeleteIf you are in the habit of donating to the UW you may consider marking your donations for the museum only or just not donate to the UW and donate to the museum instead. At least you know your money will be used for educational purposes and not directed to athletics or box offices at the stadium.
ReplyDeleteI second the interest in an address where we can send donations -- I'd much rather have a check deposited than have PayPal take a fraction of what I'm able to give.
